the Blue Earth County Fair?
Plans are underway for Open class truck & tractor pull on Thursday,
Friday and Saturday is the Buffington Rodeo and Sunday a compact car race.
Wednesday Open Class entries can be brought in
from 8:00 a.m - 6:00 p.m.
Thursday we are featuring a safety day. The
Blue Earth County Sheriffs Department is doing fingerprinting at their command
center. They are also bringing an ATV and dive truck used in search and
rescue. A car rollover simulator will be on hand for demonstrations. The State
Highway Patrol will be bringing their helicopter. The canine dog unit is
coming, too. We will also have archery safety demonstrations throughout the
afternoon. Informative speeches from a few farmers who overcame the loss of a limb
in a farm accident is scheduled. More activities are being planned.
Friday we are focused on the environment. We have many
interesting events planned such as the MN Raptor Center Show and display, a
singing rivers program, and a master gardener group making rain barrels.
Displays will include a soils tunnel, turtle pool, fish tank, ecology bus, and
more. Fishing games are planned, too. And of course, it is Senior Citizens
Day with a morning filled with displays, lunch, and entertainment.
Saturday we are having a first annual tractorcade.
This event must be preregistered,drivers must be PREREGISTERED by July 10. Line Up begins at 8. We will be traveling through the
beautiful Blue Earth County and back to the fairgrounds to enjoy the festivities
there. An old fashioned base ball game at 3:00 at Wellcome Memorial
School 1860's rules apply.
Sunday plans include an Ecumenical church service
followed by a pancake breakfast (free will donation). Entertainment by the
Riverbend Handbell Ringers, the Mountain Lake Singers, and an antique road show
are all part of a great day at the fair.
In the Schoolhouse, we ask fairgoers to write a
favorite memory from fairs past. Celebrate the rich history of the Blue Earth
County Fair by recording your memories of livestock exhibits, winning recipes,
afternoons spent on the grounds, contests, grandstand shows, and 4-H fun.
The Blue Earth County Historical Society is having a
SCAVENGER HUNT at the fair. Get the list at the fair and return it to
the Blue Earth County Historical Society building to receive a FREE stick of
Old-Fashioned Candy.

Many changes and additions have been added to bring you a
Great Old Fashioned Festival. So come and relive your memories!!

several new and exciting entertainers and events throughout the four day
festival as well as some of your old favorites, for the entire family’s
enjoyment!

No dogs or pets, other than handicapped assistance animals shall be permitted on
the Fair site or any buildings or tents during the Fair site except when
confined within an area designated by the Fair, unless they are part of an
authorized act, exhibit or competition.
